Dariganga tribe

Dariganga tribe

In the late 17th century, the settlement of three different ethnic groups—Khalkha, Chahar, and Oirat—in the eastern part of Mongolia, specifically in the Dariganga region, led to their merging and the formation of an entirely new ethnic group-Dariganga.
This newly formed Dariganga ethnic group developed its own unique customs and traditions. One of these traditions is the custom of becoming a "Sain Er" or "Noble Man’’. They learned from experienced noble men, reclaiming horses taken by the Manchus from the Mongolians, and helping those in need by distributing the spoils to the poor. As a result of the efforts and activities of these noble men, the opium trafficking network attempting to enter Mongolia from China was dismantled.
