The lake is located in the Ömnödölgör sum of Khentii province. It lies in the southeastern part of the Khentii mountain range, between the Khurkh River and its tributary, the Jargalant River. In 2012, it was designated as a 'Natural Monument' and placed under state special protection. The lake is surrounded by rocky, forested mountains, situated at an altitude of 1326 meters. It is 2 km long, 0.5 to 1.2 km wide, and has an area of 1.5 square kilometers. The lake is connected to the Khurkh River by the Bayan River and is home to fish and many wetland birds. This lake is not only a significant lake located in the forest-steppe zone but also has a relatively stable water regime compared to other lakes.
