Shargaljuut Hot Springs, located 60 km northeast of the center of Bayankhongor province center, it was first studied in the 1690s by prominent figures such as Undur Gegeen Zanabazar and Lamiin Gegeen, who began to use the springs for healing and medicinal purposes. Later, Russian and Mongolian scientists continuously conducted research, and in 1960, a state-run sanatorium was established, which continues to operate to this day. Located at an elevation of 2,158 meters above sea level, the hot spring flows over an area of 10 hectares, surrounded by 7 million liters of hot water. It is encircled by three mountains named Dorlig, Soydon, and Lkham, making it the largest hot spring deposit in Mongolia.
