Sainshand city

Sainshand is the capital of Dornogovi Province in southeastern Mongolia. The Energy Center, also known as Shambhala, is a popular spiritual site located near Sainshand. Founded by Danzan Ravjaa, the Khamar Monastery is a prominent religious and historical site in Shambala area. It was once a major center of Buddhist learning and culture in the Gobi Desert.  Pilgrims and tourists visit to meditate and experience the mystical energy believed to emanate from the area.

Sainshand serves as a gateway to the vast Gobi Desert and an important railway hub in Mongolia, located on the Trans-Mongolian Railway that connects Ulaanbaatar with Beijing. This makes it a convenient stop for travelers exploring the region by train.
