In the history of Mongolia, the "Battle of Tolbo Lake," fought against the Russian White Guards and their Mongolian and Collaborationist allies for 43 days, stands as a pivotal event. At the beginning of 1921, a section of Admiral Kolchak's army, originating from Dornod Siberia, invaded Mongolia, threatening the people's government and Mongolian independence.
Ts. Hasbaatar, the ambassador of the People's Government, led the Battle of Tolbo Lake, which began on September 17, 1921. In a historic event in the annals of the independence movement, Mongolian forces, under his command, successfully repelled the 43-day invasion by 3,000 troops of the counter-revolutionary White Russian forces, safeguarding the sovereignty of the nation and securing a bright future for its people.
