Telmen Lake

Telmen Lake is situated in Telmen sum of Zavkhan aimag. Its maximum depth is 27 meters, and it covers an area of 194 square kilometers, making it one of the largest lakes in Mongolia. Located at an altitude of over 1700 meters above sea level, it is surrounded by three islands. The lake is known for its rich birdlife, with an abundance of waterfowl species. Its salinity ranges from 6.49 to 7.6. Telmen Lake is known for its diverse birdlife, making it a great destination for birdwatchers.
